Markham Street Cafe

Initially when walking into this cafe you will be surprised by the location but once you are inside you will forget that Annandale is right outside. Exceptional Mac & Cheese and the drinks are great! It is new to the area but they do a fantastic job with presentation. Feels like a cafe but you can order chef prepared food at the counter along with teas and coffee. There are many places to sit, including couches. Great place for studying or hanging out with friends. Please check this Annandale gem out for yourself!

Wow. Talk about an amazing cafe. Everything here tastes like there was a lot of effort put into the food. The dishes aren’t super intricate, but the simplest of ingredients have been prepared so well that each bite delivers a great taste. The Chef, Evan, even took the time to explain the nature of his cooking and how he prepares his dishes. I’d come here everyday if I could. We got the chicken pesto sandwich, which was by far one of the most amazing sandwiches I’ve ever tried. The chicken was so tender and the balance of each ingredient was just right. Not to mention that everything is prepared in-house, which adds to the home style vibe. We also got the Mac and cheese and it is to die for. 6/5 if I could. Definitely will be coming back here when I can.

This is my favorite local Café/restaurant. I wish we had a place like this in my college town. I found it on Google Maps when I was having my car's oil changed nearby and needed coffee and a place to sit during a phone call. Like another reviewer said, it's tucked away and I wouldn't have otherwise known about it. The first time I went, I got the iced coffee (I drink it black and it was great). I also ate the sweet potato fries and they have a delicious seasoning. Another time, I brought my friend. She got the Mac and cheese. It is extremely rich and creamy, and I'd say it might be the best I've ever had! It's better than my mom's! The salads are also delicious. 100% recommend. The staff is super nice and service is pretty speedy, so I try to tip well. There is also lots and lots of seating, including tables and comfy couches.

Really chill vibe to the place, kinda has a restaurant side and a lounge side. I like the lighting and music. The free WiFi is a nice touch and turns this place into the perfect collage study hangout. The menu still needs work, the Cubano is on point now. And I was blown away with the other small changes they have made since they opened. This is a great hang out spot, if you haven't been you're missing out

This is an excellent addition to the food options in the Annandale area. The Markham Street Cafe not only has excellent food at a reasonable price but also provides a wonderful seating area with choices of regular tables or couches. The food is all spectacular and well priced for the quality. We started with the curried cauliflower soup, which is rich and creamy and perfectly seasoned. We also had the greens and quinoa salad with incredibly spiced Chicken. We also tried that Cubano sandwich which is Hardy and delicious and served with Incredible Rosemary fries. The cafe is an excellent location for families, couples, or even large groups to hang out and enjoy themselves.

There's nothing bad to say about this place. The food is great, deserts are great and drinks are perfectly balanced. The Grammy brunch sandwich is fantastic! A must try. It's huge with tons of flavor that you must eat all together to get the best taste! The service is great as well and place is large and clean with roomy design making you feel very comfortable and cozy during winter time.

Super nice inside. Love the interior. Service was good and the staff is friendly. Food is also pretty good. I recommend you try the mac and cheese. Their honey butter and toast is pretty good too. If you're in Annandale you should stop by and check it out!

I love love love this place. Great cafe for work or meetings... and serious snack shop with oversize high quality delicious food. The Paragon salad, oh my goodness, and today I just had the Grammy... Lol it was hilariously huge, and naughty, but delicious. And while I'm not into fries, both the regular and sweet potato fries were crazy good. Really love this place. A total unexpected gem with great customer service every time. Just wish they offered unsweetened almond milk as an alternative.
